Commissions

I am available for public and private commissions. Please contact me if you are interested in a special work of art for yourself, your business or for a gift. Costs vary, dependent upon media, size, subject matter and complexity.

Mixed media portraits
For many of my personal commissions I use a mix of media, mainly watercolor and pastel. the transparency and flow of watercolor combine with the richness of pastel resulting in a contemporary painting that is lively and full of personality. Pets and people are popular subjects for mixed media portraits, but the choice of imagery is limitless: whatever is special to you can become the basis of a unique piece of artwork.

Mixed media portraits are based on photographs of the subject. I prefer a selection of candid shots, especially if shot in natural light. Photos taken with a flash often flatten the features of both people and animals, while natural light or one light source can add definition to the features. If you haven't already, please view a variety of privately owned work on the pet, portrait and other commissions pages, then contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to working with you!

Purchasing Commissions

Purchasing a commissioned work is similar to buying a piece of original art (see Purchasing Original Art at the top of the page), but there are a couple important differences:

- A commission requires a deposit of one half the final cost. This deposit is non-refundable. An expected completion date will be given at time of deposit.
- Due to the nature of the work, commissions are nonreturnable.

Please contact me with any questions you may have.
